We start out today’s article and video with this 2012 Aston Martin Virage Coupe that just smells phishy, and is sure to be a scam!
Next is this 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG that smells fraudulent as well. Next is this 2011 Porsche 911 GT 3 that you can buy for only $65,000.. HeHeHeHe.. Next is this 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque that it’s vin ran down the real owner at Capital Ford in Raleigh NC. Next is this 2011 BMW 750i xDrive Base Sedan 4-Door 4.4L that is stinky dead phish suspicious as well.
Note that all FIVE of these sellers registered yesterday 07/13/2013. It’s possible that all 5 accounts could have been set up with someones single phished credit card. I have suggested that eBay enable ID Verify just for new Vehicle Sellers to cut down on suspected fraudulent listings like these. As usual nobody is listening!
What’s bad about these fraudulent looking listings is, the seller could possibly contact the bidders and make a deal that’s hard to resist. Greed is the motivation behind phishing scams. It’s the lure of getting something for a very UN-reasonable price that hooks a lot of people. Example of that scam is here in Los Gatos CA where an eBay Motors buyer lost $43,000 to a phishing scam.
Updated 07/16/2013: This is a followup video to the one I published on Sunday 07/14/2013 featuring these vehicles. 2012 Aston Martin Virage Coupe (130947244441). 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (300933636575). 2011 Porsche 911 GT 3 (251303951949). 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (151081721259). 2011 BMW 750i xDrive (321163543344). All of these vehicle listings have been pulled by eBay. I’m assuming they were indeed scams!
